Tailored Dashboard and Custom Theme Development for Mahendra Jewellers

Mahendra Jewellers approached WPGenius with several key challenges:

• Revamp our website with a fresh look and enhanced aesthetics, ensuring optimal performance on mobile devices.
• Digitally transfer our physical catalogs to the website, allowing users to easily view them from their smartphones in the comfort of their homes.
• Well-known as the highest gold rate providers in the market, they aimed to display their gold prices available in shops with daily updates. Simultaneously, they needed an easy way to update prices for ornaments throughout the entire catalog.
• While browsing the website, a visitor should be able to shortlist products from the catalog and display them in the shop without requiring a password.

Solution Steps:

Wireframe and Prototype

To revamp the website, WPGenius prepared wireframes, offering a visual representation of the site’s structure. After finalizing the wireframes, WPGenius designed a prototype, incorporating colors and aesthetics according to the client’s preferences. Once the client approved the design, WPGenius developed a responsive website by creating a custom WordPress theme.

Product Integration and Custom Price Calculator

To streamline product management, WPGenius developed a custom post-type in WordPress. This feature empowers the client to efficiently categorize products with detailed information on attributes like carats, weight, making charges, hallmark, and tax.

Recognizing the daily changes in gold prices, WPGenius implemented a smart price calculator. The client inputs the price of 24-carat gold, and the system automatically calculates prices for 23 carats, 22 carats, and 18 carats based on other metal percentages provided.

For convenient display of daily gold rates, WPGenius added a rate chart bar on the home and catalog pages. Additionally, to showcase the approximate price of each product, WPGenius integrated a calculator that considers gold price, category, carat, tax, labor charges, and approximate weight range. This dynamic calculator adjusts all ornament prices in the catalog whenever the gold price changes, saving valuable admin time with one-click operations.

Easy Communication and wishlist Features

WPGenius implemented effective communication practices, introducing an Inquiry form for each product, enabling customers to send product-specific emails to the admin.

To facilitate the shortlisting of ornaments, WPGenius introduced a wishlist feature. While typical wishlist functionalities require user login, in this case, we developed a custom wishlist feature based on the user’s 10-digit mobile number. Upon entering their mobile number, the system automatically stores wishlisted items in the database. Additionally, when a customer visits the store, the admin can view the ornaments they have shortlisted by entering the customer’s mobile number in the admin section.

Store Locator and Multimedia Integration

To enrich the customer experience, WPGenius implemented a store locator powered by Google Maps. This feature plots multiple stores on a single map, facilitating easy navigation for customers. Furthermore, blog articles, product offers, a wedding planner, and a video section were added to the website to enhance user engagement.

WPGenius successfully met Mahendra Jewellers’ challenges by introducing a tailored dashboard and custom theme. This involved simplifying catalog and daily gold price management during the transition from static to WordPress. The addition of user-friendly features like a wishlist and store locator, along with efficient communication tools, has significantly improved Mahendra Jewellers’ online presence and encouraged better customer engagement.
